Hangzhou Chipcanal Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. was founded in January 2018 and is located in Hangzhou. The company specializes in the R&D of high-end CMOS photodetection chips, as well as the development, production, sales of electronic products and the formulation of supporting product solutions. It is a start-up technology enterprise that holds independent intellectual property rights in analog optoelectronic chip technology and electronic engineering technology.

In the R&D stage of its photodetection chips, Chipcanal Optoelectronics mainly adopts two product operation modes: "Chip + Module" and "OEM Demo Kit + Integrated Solution". In the future, through deep integration of optoelectronic chips with big data, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies, the company will supply products for emerging application scenarios including IoT, Industry 4.0, gene detection, 3D vision, intelligent driving and 5G communication. It aims to build a complete optoelectronic product system that covers upstream chips and modules all the way to downstream end-user solutions, serving multiple sectors such as smart manufacturing, medical devices, nuclear energy and military industry. The company has broken the long-standing monopoly previously dominated by European and American players, and has earned widespread recognition from institutional partners including Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Academy of Medical Sciences, Shanghai University, Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University and Shanghai Industrial Technology Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as enterprise clients like Zhejiang Zhongke Linghang and Jichao Automation. Exceptional Class Full Professor at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, Head of Integrated Sensors Team at Lyon Institute of Nanotechnology (INL-CNRS). Over 30 years of expertise in CMOS image sensors, GaN radiotherapy semiconductor dosimeters and photodetection systems. Led multiple French national research projects, published 170+ peer-reviewed papers, holds 6 international patents, with deep industry collaboration with STMicroelectronics and Swiss Dosilab AG. His achievements have been applied in clinical precision radiotherapy, supervised 22 PhD graduates, and formerly served as the director of the university's microelectronics master program.

  Founded Hangzhou Chipcanal Optoelectronics and served as its CEO.

  He holds a doctorate in optoelectronic information from École Centrale de Lyon, France, and is a specially-appointed expert under the Hangzhou 521 Talent Program as well as a specially-appointed expert under the Overseas Talent Intelligence Program of the China Association for Science and Technology. He has long been engaged in technological innovation and industrialization in fields including high-end optoelectronic chips, smart manufacturing and medical instruments, with a total accumulated output value exceeding 10 million yuan. He has successively won honors including the second prize of Hangzhou "Maker World" Innovation Competition, Top 10 Returnee Entrepreneurship & Investment Individuals, the third prize of Overseas Students Entrepreneurship Competition, Category A "Canal Talent" of Gongshu District, and Emerging Talent for Overseas Chinese Community Innovation & Entrepreneurship. He currently serves as a member of the Gongshu District Overseas Chinese Federation, a director of the District Returned Students Association, and an expert on the Special-Appointed Expert Committee of the District Overseas Chinese Federation.

Led by Dr. Li Zhen, the team returned to China and settled in Hangzhou International Talent Entrepreneurship and Innovation Park. They built a 300-square-meter optoelectronic testing laboratory, completed the design and delivery of dual-channel photodetection chips for clients in the automotive electronics sector, and filed two invention patents.


Won the title of Top 10 Returnee Entrepreneurship & Investment Individuals in Zhejiang Overseas Chinese Community.

Selected into Hangzhou 521 Talent Program, Hangzhou 115 Talent Program and Gongshu Canal Talent Program.



Laboratory technology incubation stage

The founding team of Chipcanal Optoelectronics carried out basic technical research and innovation on "BMJ-based photodetection chips" at the INL Institute in Lyon, France, and designed and prototyped multiple silicon-based optoelectronic devices.



The team won the second prize in the finals of the 2017 Hangzhou "Maker World" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
